Newsletter for October, 2020

Hi Visitor

WRB Marina

Warm summers, friendly neighbors and kids running free!

Community News, Updates, and Reminders

  • A new LED light for the marina has been installed thanks to John Kloepfer.  It will pay for itself (and it was under $100) by using much less power, and will not be such a bright annoyance to our neighbours across the lake.
  • Thank you to all residents for removing their small watercraft (canoes, kayaks, etc) from the storage area on the beach.
  • There were some toys left on the beach and they were gifted to some children enjoying them over the Thanksgiving weekend.

With our climate being as mild as it is, we tend to get a lot of heavy, wet snow during the winter months which often causes fallen trees and power outages, sometimes for periods of time of up to 5 days (as was the case last year).  Last New Years Eve we had over three feet of snow fall, causing a long power outage and due to the amount of activity in cottages, the RBC pump house bearing housing filled with sewage. As a result, we incurred extra expenses for repairs.
During all power outages, Council asks that residents limit water use as much as possible.
