COVID-19 UpdateAs the COVID-19 pandemic hit B.C., the government asked British Columbians to do their part and they took action to stay home and help flatten the curve. With each day, the rate of growth in COVID-19 cases has steadily declined and more than 1,350 people have recovered. And we have the lowest mortality of any jurisdiction in Canada, the United States and western Europe with more than 5 million people.
COVID SPECIFIC IMPACTS / GUIDELINES CURRENTLY IN PLACE AT WILD ROSE BAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
The annual Canada Day BBQ cannot be held this year due to BC Public Health Restrictions.
Although we will be unable to gather as a community, there still remains the opportunity for individual strata lots to celebrate Canada Day with their friends and families if practicing the safe social distancing guidelines as outlined in the link below: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/emergency-preparedness-response-recovery/covid-19-provincial-support/bc-restart-plan
Another way we can all celebrate our community cheer during the Canada Day long weekend is to join everyone in making noise each evening at 7:00 pm from your own properties. This ritual has been in place for several months now and is being practiced to celebrate community unity.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the August AGM will be different this year. The Strata Council is finalizing details and will have news in the coming weeks.
MANAGING THE ELEMENTS OF MOTHER NATURE
Flood PreparednessOver the course of this last weekend, starting Friday, June 12, 2020, we have had several storms occur resulting in thunderstorms, high winds, hail, power outages, and close to 80 mm of rain forecasted over the course of the weekend.
As previously published, the lake
water level continues to be extremely high. If required, sand and sand bags are available at the WRB Community Park.
NOTE: THE KAYAKS AND OTHER WATERCRAFT CURRENTLY BEING STORED ON THE KAYAK RACKS ON THE (NOW UNDERWATER) BEACH ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLOATING AWAY- TWO ALREADY HAVE!!
If you have any watercraft stored on these racks, please secure or remove them until the lake water levels decrease.
Fire RestrictionsCurrently, camp fires are still allowed (0.5m x 0.5m). The Open Fire Ban remains in effect. Updates can be found by following this link: http://bcfireinfo.for.gov.bc.ca/hprScripts/WildfireNews/Bans.asp?FC=5
